The Singapore Gomoku Championship is Singapore's premier national Gomoku competition. It is organized by the Singapore Mind Sports / Gomoku Association, an active member of the RIF (Renju International Federation). The championship brings together top local players as well as rising talent from school and community programs.
Gomoku in Singapore
Singapore's Gomoku scene is closely tied to the broader mind-sports movement, and the game is especially popular among students and at community centers across the island. School-level competitions and inter-club events help develop new players, many of whom progress to the national championship and international representation.
RIF Membership & Standard Rules
As an RIF member nation, Singapore adopts the federation's standard competition rules: a 15×15 board with Black forbidden moves (三三, 四四, 長連). This keeps Singaporean players competitive in regional and world events, where the same forbidden-move system is used to balance Black's first-move advantage.
